Beach Chalets

A colourful, popular and longstanding feature of Scarborough’s North Bay, the Beach Chalets overlook the promenade and a first class beach that enjoys European Blue Flag status.

There are 136 Beach Chalets available for seasonal or short term use.  A number of the new Chalets have been designed to accommodate the disabled with full ramp access.  The Chalets enjoy great views and include a sink and kettle point offering a great base from which to enjoy a full day in the North Bay area.

Close is the new Beach Management Centre which also offers showering facilities. Cafes, shops and restaurants are nearby and deck chair hire is available. There is discreet CCTV coverage.

Miniature Railway

The every popular North Bay Miniature Railway has continued to make huge improvements with the introduction of new engines Poseidon and Robin Hood and covered carriages for days of inclement weather.

Special events are held monthly throughout the year such as the Teddy Bears Picnic, Halloween Special and Santa Specials.

The new Beach Management Centre has now been completed and comprises attended Toilets with Shower facilities, night toilet facilities, an office for the beach superintendent, a first aid room and lifeguard office, a reception area and lookout post
